Colin Bunn, the Ebro Expert is an Excellent fishing guide, very knowledgeable about the area and the river Ebro and the fishing there. Very professional can’t do enough for you, our group have had a fantastic week of fishing with Colin, a lot of laughs, and some great fishing. I can’t wait to go back and do it all again, 100% recommended.

This trip has been on my bucket list for years and I have to say it was even more amazing than I expected. From the moment we were picked up to the end of our trip Colin was the utmost, unbelievably, professional host. The accommodation, equipment, and all the laughs along the way made this one of my most memorable trips. Thank you Colin I will be back UTV!

Ebro Expert offers a very high level of service and exceptional guiding knowledge that combined to make our fishing trip in the first week of July a memorable experience.

We were met at the airport in a clean modern air-conditioned vehicle. The accommodation was spacious, clean, comfortable and air-conditioned. The fishing equipment was new and well-maintained. There was adequate protection on the bank against the weather, both heat and heavy rain.

Colin has a vast knowledge of the Ebro and its tributaries, based on in excess of 20 years of guiding in the region. And he guided us to 14 fish, some of them very large.

His wide knowledge of fishing, birds, and scooters combined with a million stories and a sense of humor kept both of us entertained on the bank.

A brilliant experience for me and my son!

This trip lived up to my expectations and more, I’ve been back now only 2 weeks and can’t wait to do it again.

I’ve got to say Colin made this trip, anyone else it just would not have been the same.

The knowledge and passion he has for this shows in abundance and he could not do enough to make the whole experience somewhat special. The accommodation where we stayed was extremely nice and had everything we needed and was literally 5 minutes away from where we were fishing.

Another fantastic week with Colin at Ebro Expert. For anyone wishing to fish the mighty Ebro for immense catfish and carp, you won’t find a better guide with decades of river knowledge. Whilst you are there, if you are looking to eat out, I would highly recommend the Citron Blue restaurant in the town square. The food was excellent and at very reasonable prices. What a great week! Top-notch guiding and advice and top-notch accommodation. Nothing was too much trouble and Colin looked after us superbly getting our group onto some carp when the fishing was at its toughest and some of the best quality Roach fishing you could ever wish for. I can’t recommend the Ebro Expert enough and I will most definitely be back. Mequinenza is great value with extraordinary fishing offering so much more than just the carp and cats.

Colin has once again provided me with a fantastic fishing break; there was nothing that was too much trouble. The fishing was tough with a massive drop in temperature but I still managed to catch Carp to 41lb, Rudd to 2lb 12oz, Roach to 1lb 13oz plus Zander and Perch. I have to add we only carp fished for 2 days, the rest was on the silvers, quality fishing, and on one day we landed 100 Roach over 1lb up to 1lb 13oz. The accommodation was first class as was the whole package, I have fished with Colin for 20 years, and as with everything he does in life he is top of his game. For me, I love the wildlife that accompanies you every day on the bank over there, simply stunning! Thanks again Colin – I am already planning my return.

Had an amazing time fishing over there along with my Dad. Colin is a fantastic host, he looked after everything you can think of and you can’t beat the location either, we will be returning next year!

Just got back after spending a week with 4 friends fishing with Colin. The accommodation was comfortable, clean, and everything we needed. The fishing was difficult with weed coming down the river but Colin spent hours in his boat keeping the rods fishing. The tackle supplied is nothing less than superb and set up to catch the biggest fish possible. Nothing was too much trouble for Colin who was totally committed to doing his best for us to catch cats and carp which resulted in us banking a superb cat of 218lb along with many others. Overall we had a fantastic time and would recommend Ebro Expert to those wishing to experience the thrill of catching monster catfish and carp. We first came with Colin 21 years ago and he still remains the best guide we have experienced in 21 years of fishing the Ebro and Segre.

Just spent a week fishing with the Ebro Expert, Colin Bunn, and had a fantastic time. Fishing was difficult this week but Colin had the 3 of us on the fish from day one and we ended up with around 20 catfish and carp between us.

We all had PB carp and it was Colin’s experience that enabled this. His attention to detail and continued hard work made it all possible.

Colin spends the week on the bank with you and when we weren’t catching fish the humorous tales of previous trips amongst the constant banter ensures the whole trip is very enjoyable. You’d be a fool to book with anyone else!

I just got back from a week’s fishing with the amazing Colin Bunn in the beautiful town of Mequinenza. Colin is without a doubt the best guide on the river. Not only does he have his vast 30 years + of experience to call on but he works tirelessly to get you the fish of a lifetime.

Nothing is too much for Colin; he is there to make your holiday the best experience for you. Accommodation is lovely and clean, vehicles are clean and reliable. Colin has a great sense of humor and will have you laughing and engrossed in his stories until your rod roars off again.

It was not an easy week on the river with lots of weed coming down and the fish not playing ball all the time, but my party and I all caught fish over 100lb and Colin worked hard moving the weed off the lines and out of the swim.

I would highly recommend anyone looking to fish the Ebro to book up with the Ebro Expert.

Well what can you say, other than an excellent experience! Colin is a great guy and fishing guide and he can’t do enough for you. He knows his stuff on the river and works really hard for you. The accommodation is first class and situated in a perfect spot for everyone to enjoy the town and local restaurants and bars.

Now home and back to normality after an absolutely amazing week carp and catfishing in Mequinenza. The conditions were challenging all week with so much weed and fluctuating water levels. Our guide for the week was Colin Bunn aka Ebro Expert and I cannot fault him in any way possible. From start to finish he was putting in his maximum effort and hard work to ensure we had a good week and his efforts paid off as we landed our biggest cat at 144lb and our biggest carp at 45lb.

We will without a doubt be back to give it another shot for an even bigger monster!

Just back from an awesome week’s fishing in the beautiful town of Mequinenza. Conditions were tough with lots of weed and low water levels due to the long hot summer we are currently experiencing. That didn’t deter Colin though. Through hard work and a great deal of expertise on his boat he had us fishing and landing catfish to 144LB and carp to 45LB.

The tackle is all top-end gear; no tatty tackle to be found here, and the accommodation was spot on. You will not get a better guide to fish with on this river system he has worked his socks off all week and kept us entertained with his stories. That man is the best there is.

I and two great mates spent a fabulous week fishing with Colin on the river. The first four days were exceptionally tough as the fish were doing their utmost to avoid feeding in the extreme weather conditions. But with the incredible persistence and experience of Colin, we eventually struck gold. The attention to detail and fantastic facilities along with great equipment provided by Ebro Expert have made this one of the best weeks fishing and fun I’ve had in many a year. We have already booked for 2023.

Having already been in regular touch with Colin after 3 times covid canceled trips I was already looking forward to finally meeting him. He didn’t disappoint. Absolutely nothing too much trouble for him. I guarantee he will go far and beyond the call of duty to maximize your chances to catch. Very hot and difficult conditions during our stay but he never ever stopped trying. Friend for life, and in the words of Arnie, “I’ll be back”!

Great week, nice and hot, very chilled. Even though the fishing was tough for all on the River due to ridiculous heat, Colin never stopped working trying to maximize our chances. Mequinenza is also lovely with many places to eat and drink, and our accommodation was phenomenal. Only have good things to say about Colin and Ebro Expert.

Had a great week catfishing with Colin, especially as it was my first time after cats. It was exceptionally hot and some days drifting weed was a problem, but Colin with all his experience managed to keep clearing the problem weed and keep us fishing well, we managed 10 cats between the two of us in difficult conditions including three over the magic ton, which was always our target. His knowledge and know-how soon taught us how to safely play, land, photo, and release these magnificent fish.

Colin’s energy and positive attitude kept us keen on the slower days and we always felt the next cat was never far away. He kept us entertained all week with his stories and witty banter; a genuinely nice guy. I truly can’t think of anything extra that we could have needed, right from our airport collection to our airport departing. He also has a vast knowledge of the local wildlife that I found fascinating to see and hear about. All week, nothing was too much trouble for Colin and I would thoroughly recommend him to anyone for a guided carp or catfish trip.

I am hoping for a return visit soon!

Well Colin, Ebro Expert: You certainly gave Wyndon and Darren a fantastic holiday, one to remember for many reasons (non stop laughter for one). A PB catfish and carp for Wyndon and 1st ever catfish for Darren. Holiday memories to last a lifetime. Well looked after too. Well fed / strong possibility of a return trip. Thank you for looking after the old man (Wyndon). He came home with many tales. Don’t think he’s ever had a holiday quite like it. Wow, what a week with Ebro Expert. Nothing is too much trouble for Colin and he does everything to make your trip a dream trip. He has top-class gear, accommodation and what this man knows about this river is unbelievable, 21 cats with 11 over the 100lb mark plus a river record for myself at 252 lbs and not forgetting a 40lb 8oz carp. With one of the lads saying “we’re going fishing” and me saying let me just get it passed off by the wife, “too late I’ve booked it already came the reply”. Well it started with every season thrown at us, wind, rain, hail and it even snowed at one point but Colin was there using his knowledge of the river to get us catching and didn’t disappoint with catfish up to 187lb and plenty of Zander too.

I had an absolutely amazing fishing experience with Colin on the Ebro for the cats and carp. I’m fairly new to fishing and being able to fish for these river monsters was like a dream come true. Colin’s expertise and knowledge of the fishing are second to none. Not only is he a great guide with a vast knowledge of fishing he is also a genuine top lad with hours of comical stories, definitely booking again. Not only was the fishing amazing, Colin himself is a great host. I cannot wait to book for next year with a 140lb+ catfish to beat and a 30lb+ carp.

I’ve just returned from my 6th fishing trip with Colin spaced over 22 years on the river Ebro. Hand on heart his guiding service is second to none. This will seem obvious to those who know and recognize Colin as the bloke who bust his balls some 30 odd years ago pioneering catfishing in Spain, driving 1000’s of miles in the hope that rumors were true that these leviathan mythical creatures did actually exist in these waters I now fondly adore.

No guide knows the area better than Colin. If Colin isn’t on the fish then nobody is. We, like all fishermen, are attracted to a bit of fishing tackle porn and Colin provides the very best available, the kind of tackle I’d only ever dreamed of having, all designed specifically to be in balance with what you will only describe as the most epic fight you have ever had or ever will from a fish in freshwater. Currently, my biggest is 211lb, a fight, and a fish I will never forget.

Accommodation is top class, Mequinenza is the friendliest place I’ve been to in Spain with realistic pricing for food and drinks. I’ll be back annually from now on as Colin is doing the guiding himself.

The Ebro expert, that’s Colin Bunn. I booked with Colin to fulfill one of my bucket list goals and he did it. We did it on my 1st fish which was 105lb the 2nd one out was at 171lb, words fail me. Conditions were against us at times but Colin kept our heads up and the fish came to us. The apartment was bang on with everything you need. The food from the local bars and restaurants was stunning; just listen to Colin and his recommendations. He does love a spag bol lol. We are already booking up to return next year and we can’t wait to get back there.

WOW. What an amazing week cat fishing I recently had with Colin and Ebro Expert. From the moment we were picked up Colin was spot on, the conditions were not favourable and fishing was hard but with all the effort and knowledge that was shared we managed to land some truly epic fish, will definitely be returning to try and better my 214lb PB (still can’t believe it). I would recommend to all he is a top guy with a lot of time for you and your fishing.

Well it’s was great to be back with the best guide on the ebro system, nothing has changed over the years, everything is still perfect. the accommodation. the food. and the attention to detail from Colin himself where the fishing is concerned, Colin worked just as hard as he did all those years ago when he helped me catch my biggest catfish of 224 LB, can’t wait to get back. What can you say about the experience with an expert in his field, the knowledge accrued over many decades of fishing for catfish and carp is remarkable? Not only that but the detail of all parts of the trip, the apartment was fantastic with every home comfort laid on. The scenery was mind blowing, just sitting back and taking it all in was great, but then you have the fishing which is something you could only experience with someone who knows the river inside out. Nothing was too much trouble, food brought to the swim, and what food it was, brilliant. Treated like kings for a week. There wasn’t anything Colin hasn’t thought of. That’s what experience gives you, the what, why, and wherefore. I’ve been fishing for 60 years been a lot of places but none compare to the Ebro Expert experience. Absolutely BRILLIANT

It was my first trip out to Mequinenza in Spain with my good friend, to fish with Colin Bunn, in September 2021. Everything about the trip was excellent. Colin’s knowledge of catfishing in this area is unrivalled; he literally developed the entire catfishing scene on the Ebro-Segre river system and as the original founder of Catmaster and you really could not ask for a better guide. In addition to catching some wonderful fish – including a 164 pound beauty (a fish of a life time for me), Colin worked tirelessly to make the trip informative, great fun and comfortable. We will certainly be going back out there again and would only consider fishing with Colin once again – the one and only “Ebro Expert!”

Just come back from a week with Colin and he does live up to his company name of the Ebro expert with over 30 years experience fishing there isn’t too much he doesn’t know. Even though the conditions were tough with excessive weed in the river we still managed catfish up to 182lb and carp to 32lb. Colin doesn’t skimp on tackle too with only high end gear used as for the apartment provided it was better than most hotels I’ve stopped in on non fishing holidays. If you’re in the market for a Cat or Carp fishing trip in Spain Ebro Expert come highly recommended. It will not be too long until I will be booking again.
