My first ever catfishing experience — and what an incredible one it turned out to be!

From airport pickup to the fishing itself and even sorting out food, Colin took care of everything. His knowledge of the Ebro is second to none, and it really showed throughout the whole trip.

Even though the fishing was apparently “slow” for the time of year, we still caught plenty — with most fish over 100lb, including my new PB of an unbelievable 182lb catfish!

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Ebro Expert to anyone — an absolutely top experience from start to finish.

If you want the best catfish or carp fishing holiday on the Ebro, Colin is the best, top guide, top man.

I have been travelling 17 years to the Ebro/Segre area to fish for catfish, roach and carp at different times. During this time I have always used Colin Bunn and his companies to provide a guiding service unless he was unable to fit me in. Now Colin is running Ebro Expert where he provides small groups with him as the guide. His knowledge of the river is unrivalled, the equipment is extremely well maintained, an apartment with all facilities is provided and the total service is top class. Colin also has a wonderful knowledge of the areas birds and can help you see some specialities e.g. golden eagle, black wheatear etc. As someone else commented, forget the rest, go with the best.

This is my second trip now and many more to come. Colin knows everything there is to know about the catfish and how to fish the river. He is an amazing tour guide and a great personality, can’t wait to book for the next one and he managed to bag my biggest one at 141lb

Great trip very helpful nothings to much trouble, great fishing Guide and there’s not anything he doesn’t know about the river are biggest catch of the week was a 223lb half albino and a little tip don’t open a packet of Werther’s Original around Colin or they will be gone

Unforgettable Catfishing Trip in Mequinenza!

What an absolutely incredible experience! We had an amazing time fishing in Mequinenza, landing 12 catfish ranging from 67lb to a massive 181lb — the fight and excitement were unreal!

Our guide Colin was outstanding from start to finish. He’s funny, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about the river and the fish. Nothing was ever too much trouble — from setting us up perfectly to making sure we were comfortable and having a great time throughout. You can really tell he loves what he does and wants everyone to have the best possible experience.

If you’re thinking about a fishing trip in Mequinenza, don’t hesitate — book with Colin! You’ll laugh a lot, learn a ton, and catch some absolute monsters. Can’t wait to come back

Recently got back from a great weeks fishing with the Ebro expert, AKA Colin Bunn. First went with Colin 25 years ago and he’s still got the same passion now as he had all those years ago, relentless work in and out the boat making sure all the rods are not weeded up. Great fun to be around, we had 1 cat over 200lb, 1 over 190lb, 3 over 180lb, 25 cats landed only 3 under 100lb. Accommodation spotless, tackle first class you won’t find anyone on the Ebro better than Colin Bunn. Regards Baggy

Just returned from a fantastic week with Colin The whole experience is testament to Colin’s Knowledge of the Segre and Ebro river system. We all caught plenty of cats to 181lb and PB’s for the entire group.

Colin’s attention to detail has to be admired he has the best tackle and is constantly checking the rigs every time they are rowed out.

The whole experience is quality right from the airport pick up in a very comfortable mini bus, the accommodation is very clean, and has everything you could need.

I would highly recommend Colin to anyone thinking of venturing to Mequinenza for a quality Cat and Carp fishing holiday.

Just got back after spending a week with 3 others and Colin. Accommodation comfortable, clean and everything we needed. The fishing can only be described as incredible, we had 25 cats with the biggest 210lb and others of 193lb, 185lb, 184lb and 180lb with only 3 cats under 100lb

Colin spent hours in his boat keeping the rods fishing. The tackle supplied is nothing less than superb and set up to catch the biggest fish possible. Colin was totally committed in doing his best for us to catch cats and carp and making our trip as exciting as it could be. Overall we had a fantastic time and would recommend Ebro expert to those wishing to experience the thrill of catching monster catfish and carp. We first came with Colin 24 years ago and he still remains the best guide we have experienced fishing the Ebro and Segre.

Highly recommend, Colin Bunn. I’ve been twice to his outfit and he is very professional, and in my opinion the best knowledge out there. Hello everyone.

I’ve returned home to England after a week long fishing trip along with 4 friends of mine.

We booked our trip with Ebro expert through the internet as none of us had fished for catfish before we agreed to do a package trip and booked up with said company and weren’t we glad we did.

From start to finish we were looked after remarkably well the accommodation was clean well maintained and had everything we needed for our stay.

We got picked up at a time that suited us in the mornings and likewise taken back when we had finished our days fishing.

The house is in town so we had restaurants and bars to choose from all walkable.

Now the fishing

Everyone in the party caught fish and everyone had a fish over 100lb even 2 over 160lb

We had tuition on the first morning and help and assistance throughout the week nothing is too much trouble for Colin our guide.

We laughed and gave and received terrible banter until our eyes ran and ribs hurt Colin gave as good as he took, I reckon he should have given us a discount for the entertainment we provided, maybe next time because there will be one if he allows us to return.

Ok people I’m done now but if this makes you wonder about having a go at Catfishing give the man a call he’s almost a friend apart from he comes from Birmingham.

Absolutely fantastic fishing trip, with the best guide on the Ebro, Colin Bunn. He’s not called the Ebro Expert for nothing. Unmatched knowledge and a fantastic setup. Well catered for and very much looked after. Lots of fish caught, right up to 216lb. Forget the rest, go with the best

Just back from the most amazing fishing trip ever with my Lad. The organization around the trip was first class, from transfers from the airport to the standard of the accommodation. Then the guiding experience provided by Colin was amazing, it’s not just the 12 huge Cat Fish caught over the week along with 15 stunning Carp but the attention to detail during the trip which was first class. Nothing was ever too much trouble even coaching my lad who had no big fish experience. We did have some extreme weather which included a storm which I had never seen in my life time, Colin first thought was not the equipment but our safety. The professionalism in dealing with the situation was extremely reassuring. So big thanks for all the amazing memories which are priceless.

Well for a start I’m truly impressed with Colin’s whole set up. Quality tackle, meticulously looked after at every turn. You soon realise the dedication and years of experience that he’s put into guiding you through the process of Ebro catting, which starts at the airport and continues throughout the whole time.

I was quite anxious about what to expect from a guide as it’s the first time that I’ve relied on someone for that much ‘help’ but I was quickly relaxed not only with Colin’s professional approach but also as what a genuine guy he is. Nothing and I mean nothing is too much trouble. From talking you through each stage of the fishing to popping down the takeaway to get the delicious food from Citron Blue! Colin’s is without doubt a highly respected and vastly experienced guide and I have no hesitation in recommending him. I will be back and I urge you to get booked up for a brilliant time!

Just got back from weeks carp fishing trip with Colin, his knowledge of the river is absolutely unrivalled, you can certainly tell he has over 30 years experience on the Ebro, he knew exactly where the fish would be and how to catch them. I have to say this is the most amazing experience I’ve had in 20 years of fishing in Europe. Colin, Ebro Expert was the most amazing guide you could ask for his knowledge of the Ebro is second to none being there for 35 years and still have the love and dedication to make you feel at home and catch some absolute giants as in my case 223 pounds 15.9 stone like a hole in one at golf. I’ve been 3 times with this guy and he sure does know his stuff, and when it’s quiet on the bank the banter and entertainment is great fun.

Do it if you can…Colin Bunn is your guide, he’s the best on the river and a proper wind up merchant, catch some lumps and have a laugh whilst having the time of your life

Just got back from a brilliant week away with Ebro Expert, Colin was our guide for the week and he couldn’t do enough for us, the accommodation was very clean and tidy, there were four of us on this trip, and we each caught plenty of big cats ranging from 60lb to 160lb, also a surprise big carp and a Zander, Colin sorted everything out for us so made the trip easily enjoyable, couldn’t fault a thing! We’ll definitely be returning as soon as we can

Well what can I say about Colin. Absolute top man and guide. His knowledge is 2nd to none. When Colin picked us up at the airport he said the fish has been very hard. The 1st 2 days where very hard nothing on the 3rd day Colin decided to move, twice. And come up with the goods, 1st cat 136lbs next day 1 at 134lbs I lost one, the hook link snapped. I had a 2nd chance and had 1 at 118lbs well happy, mission accomplished we all had a cat. The party had 1 more cat don’t know the size, that’s another story LOL ask Colin. His attention to detail is amazing, like sharpening the hooks every time he re-baits up, he also bins all hooks at the end of the week. All tackle he uses is all top quality, Free Spirit rods, Shimano reels. His stories are hilarious, always asking if we need anything from the restaurant (breakfast/dinner) always got the kettle on Yorkshire tea. We will be back in 2026 ( if you like Northern Soul. Mod and 2 tone) you’re in for a treat.

I have been fishing with Colin this week and I cannot fault anything about this whole experience. From day 1 nothing was too much trouble we manage to catch some personal best cats and carp. Anyone after doing something special I would definitely recommend you try booking with Colin.

We have just finished off a great weeks fishing with Ebro Expert. We caught everyday both Catfish to 136lb and carp to 40lb +. Have to say Colin couldn’t do enough for us & nothing was too much trouble for him from rowing baits out getting our food and bits from the local shops. Accommodation is perfect for small or larger groups & close to shops & restaurants in Mequinenza. His knowledge of the river is second to none & our time on the bank with him was full of stories & laughter. We have already booked for 2025.

Colin was really helpful, the whole time we were there nothing was too much bother. As a non fisherman, at the start he must have thought who are these guys but he had patience and by the end of the week we were fishing like experts. The stories being told were also really interesting and funny, I really enjoyed myself, thanks Colin and the two guys I was with, Mark 1 and Mark 2.
